Brave Girls Canvas Album

Join Janet, April 19th from 7-9pm while she shows you how to make a unique album out of canvases and decorative metal pieces. This could be a brag book or a coffee table piece. Bring your basic tool kit and some super strong adhesive. If you have a color in mind, bring the paint needed to create your master piece! This is your project and you make it your way!! Janet's Brave Girl Class

On Tuesday, April 19th at 7pm join Janet to create an interesting altered album using a variety of materials.Janet will guide you in altering your canvas in a variety of ways, and will introduce you to some new Tim Holtz supplies to create a unique way to display your pictures, quotations, special memories or mementos in a totally new way.Bring along your basic tool kit, plus a pair of needle nose pliers if you have them. There will be a variety of acrylic paints for you to use, but if you have specific color scheme in mind you may want to bring along those paints as well. Any other items you might want to use to embellish you album should be brought along (including the title letters you will be using for you album.) Those items might include glimmer mist, glim glam, glimmer paint, masks, stamps, glitter ribbon, charms, chipboard etc. The cost of the class is $25.00. Angels In the Making

Back by Popular Demand!!! We have added another Angels Class for you to enjoy!!!

We invite you to take advantage of the incredible talent that our friend and designer Thelma Findlay has to offer. She will instruct us in creating a limited edition Altered Memory Book “ANGELS IN THE MAKING”. We will enjoy an entire day altering a book and creating a one-of-a-kind memory album of special people in your life—Angels—folks who have shared your life and have passed. Capture some brief memories about them between the pages of your very own ANGELS book. A book surely to be treasured for years to come and coveted by the next generation. If you attended the November crop, you will recall that Thelma spent the time creating her ANGELS book. She will be joining us in Brandon, where she will teach you how to create our own ANGELS book. She will be available for the day to offer suggestions and help you design page by page in your books—and share with you some of her page decorating techniques. This is a limited edition class, in that there is room only for 36 participants. Spaces are going fast, don’t hesitate to register.

DATE: Sat. April 9th

TIME: 9:00 am-5:00 pm
WHERE: “Jode’s Cafeteria” in Heartland Livestock Brandon-329 12th Street North.
SUPPLIES REQUIRED:
15 (or more) photos of your special Angels–“preferably in black & white” or “Sepia”
– photos should be 4” x 6”, but can also be 3 ½” wide by 8” tall (remember that some photos may be altered, therefore, copies would work best for this project)
If you are pre-journaling for this project, the journaling should be on a size not to exceed 3 ½” wide x 8 “ tall (note: pre-designed journaling cards specifically for this project will be available on Feb. 12)
Adhesive – two-way tape works great (1/4” and 1/2 “ are Thelma’s favourites), as the pages become heavy, and the tape will ensure your project stays together
Paper Trimmer/ Scissors / Exacto Knife / Paper Edge Distresser Your everyday scrapping toolkit … because a girl needs to have what works best for her, and she always has to have her tools!
Miscellaneous odds and ends for your project … we are supplying lots of Angel goodness for this project, but you will want to compliment the supplies with your own: think soft blue, angel wings, pearls, complimenting bling, white flowers, ivory flowers, soft blue flowers, ribbon, trims, fabric, stickles, bling, rhinestones, charms, old off-white lace, old buttons in off-white or soft blue, or what you feel you would like to use on your pages.

12 – 8 ½ x 11 paper (ivory)
1 - 12x12 blue paper
2- Sheets Lost and Found glitter pattern paper 12x12
1 large paper – for cover
Binding Ribbon – 4 ½ ft. each
6 - 8 ½ x 11 paper (blue)
Piece of fabric for binding of book
1 pkg chipboard angel wings (20pcs)
1 chalk ink pad
Plus, your own crop spot (approximately 3 or 4 feet)

A healthy lunch of homemade soup, meat & cheese bun-wich, drink and dessert.

PLUS: for your convenience:
Shelley will have a mini version store set up, carrying supplies that coordinate with your ANGELS BOOK, lots of cardstock, pattern paper, embellishments, flowers, bling, ribbon, trims, charms, inks....all in the colours of blues, ivory, cream, white, and a bit of black, and a bit of browns. Whether you develop you photos in black & white, or sepia.

Sherrie and I

Good time was had by all.. We went to Winnipeg for COPIC certification, what a great course, we all could not believe the possiblities on these fabulous markers. We spent time with Sherrie Siemens the instrutor, some of you may know her from her blog http://www.cardcreme.com/

She had a wealth of information that we tried to absorb. Can't wait to share our knowledge and new skills... We are practicing and will soon set a date for the class.
